AkumuFest is New York City’s first immersive Japanese horror convention, blending traditional folklore with modern pop culture. For one day, Japan Village in Brooklyn transforms into a haunted Edo-style village filled with:
A cosplay & kimono contest, with finalists showcased in the dramatic Night Parade of One Hundred Demons (Hyakki Yagyō).
A Haunted House experience, roaming NPC yokai, and an interactive Adventurer’s Guild quest system.
A curated mix of vendors, artists, and performances ranging from Japanese storytelling and taiko drumming to comedy, J-fashion, and live music.
A family-friendly day program (9 AM – 6 PM) followed by AkumuFest After Dark (7 PM – 10 PM), featuring comedy, live music, and the cosplay finals.
The event is free to the public with pre-registration preferred, ensuring strong turnout and broad community engagement.
Sponsoring AkumuFest means aligning your brand with a unique cultural experience that merges Japanese tradition, horror, cosplay, and community storytelling. As a sponsor, you gain:
Direct access to a highly engaged audience of anime fans, cosplayers, J-fashion enthusiasts, and New York creatives.
Brand visibility across multiple touchpoints — posters, programs, social media campaigns, on-site activations, and immersive story elements.
Association with authenticity and creativity, as AkumuFest is not just a convention but a living story, where even sponsors can be woven into the narrative (from branded haunted areas to quest tie-ins).
Community goodwill, by supporting an event that celebrates Japanese culture, indie creators, and NYC’s diverse fan community.
In short: AkumuFest is more than an event — it’s an experience. Sponsoring means your brand becomes part of the story, remembered by attendees long after the night ends.
